Disclaimer: Not my characters. A/N: For watdrabbles #2 pain. Even now, all these months later, her leg still hurts. Phantom pain, burning where the bullet pierced her. She pretends she's fine ("The doctor says I'm healing well."), pretends she's coping ("Yes, Jack, I'm seeing a therapist."), pretends that she's the same person she was before ("Really, Jack, I'm okay."). No one believes her, but she doesn't care. She's alive, that's what counts. Isn't it? Her nightmares are her little secret. Only her cat sees her cry, and he's not going to tell. In the mean time, she'll keep on pretending. There's not much else she can do, is there? |
